I would like to welcome the new members to the group. Welcome!
There is a place in West Virginia, in Pocahontas County, called Greenbank, where you
cannot use cell phones due to the fact that microwaves interfere with the reception of very
sensitive Radio Telescopes they have located there. I think it would be a great place to
start some kind of community for people who are electrosensitive and for others that just
want to live away from the Electrosmog. Also, the real estate prices are comparatively
inexpensive. If anyone wants to check it out, please let us know what you find.
"There are few large optical telescopes in the eastern part of the United States. Major
optical observatories are located where there is a) clear weather most of the time, b) high
mountains, to minimize absorption by the atmosphere, and c) dark skies, and d) stable air,
to minimize seeing. Radio telescopes don't have these limitations, since radio waves are
unaffected by clouds and atmospheric turbulence. They are, however, affected by radio
noise, i.e., radio and TV broadcasts, cellular phone transmissions, etc. One the major radio
observatories in the United State is located in a radio-free zone in Greenbank, West
Virginia."
